Hi;
After standing for two weeks in the open, my 'S' reg Megane wouldn't fire.
The fuel light was on so I put in 10 litres from cans I had for the very purpose, but still no fire. Checked plugs (OK), then noticed a pathetic whining from the fuel pump which stopped as the guage reached '1/4...

I have a phase 1.5 hybrid which i presume is running the standard fuel pump.
I read this post in the phase 1 and 1.5 differences topic:
I have a phase 2 fuel pump and was wondering if it might be worth changing it, as I'm sure the f7r needs the 3 bar? :?
Can anyone shead a bit more light on this?
I have recently changed my 1.4RT clio in to a 1.8 16v. I have got a wee problem with my fuel system some where as it get shot out my exhaust in a big black puff of reak. I think it is cause i am using a 1.4 Fuel pump, are the fuel pumps the same fittings as the 1.8 Pumps.
Ill be changing my pump from a 1.2 item to a valver item.
Does anyone have any pics on where its located?
Ive also been told that theres 2 components to make up the fuel pump in a valver item, true or false?
Call me dumb, but would a 1.2 energy engine run with a 16v fuel pump??
There is no way there would be too much pressure??
Just doing a 16v conversion bit by bit since its my road car.
Now I know that my cars not really a retro renault, but seeing as I know there are enough renault nutters on here to make kellogs nervous I'm begging some help, here goes
Before I go and shell out a wedge for a new fuel pump, I'd like to make sure there is nothing else that could possibly be...
16v items are 3.5 bar IIRC - if i fitted one to a normally 3bar car would it mean the pump would have an easier life or do they all run flat out anyway?
Would this waste fuel?
