Regarding the crank sensor I just can’t see how there is enough movement to cause any issues with timing. I will check tomorrow to see how close to wheel the sensor is. I did have to shim with a washer when I first did the install to make sure it wasn’t touching the actual trigger wheel.

Its a very rhythmical funky idle.

lol, it is indeed. That seems to have calmed down since I sorted the vac hose. I think I am going to richen idle up when I can fix my shit work PC.

It’s more the distance from sensor to flywheel, timing would only affect the ignition advance. No idea if wari has a trigger monitor but with MS you can check the trigger input. Had a ‘misfire’ aswell which turned out to be crank sensor related

No the map is awesome, it runs so well on cruise and on boost (when not missing). I agree though, I am going to add more fuel on idle. I’ll get it closer to mid 14’s.

Sounds like just needs idle fuel increasing or idle pwm adjusting, I’m sure you can work it out quite easy,

14.5 at idle should be pretty solid idle at that figure

It’s the misfire on boost that is more frustrating I guess, it’s great fun and a real handful when it’s working as it should. I’m going to take a good look at the coil pack earthing as suggested by you a few days ago too. Something is causing it to happen and thus far I’ve ruled out plugs.

Way too lean, cammed engines normally need to be richer to idle well if anything. When mine is up to temp I try and run closed loop and let the ECU sort it out, closed loop is set to activate between 0 and 100kpa, and engine up to temp and under 4000rpm I think. My standard cammed car idles like utter crap that lean I like it to be mid 14’s. Amrit’s cammed lump at the MOT station when I backed it off for emissions didn’t like mid 15’s very much, it was hunting and struggling.

Idling at 14.5:1 shouldn’t affect your plugs unless you are running way too cold or something else is wrong, the plug sooting I had with the red rocket on 7’s was caused by an inverted crank sensor by the looks of it.

I will richen up idle but as luck would have it my work PC (windows) has died during the last few days, luckily I managed to move all of the maps so as long as I can borrow someones windows machine this weekend I’ll be able to plug into WARI.

I had an intermittent miss but not only on boost. It was caused by the MAP sensor reading jumping about too much and I diagnosed it by putting a .6 welding tip in the sensor pipe to “damp” the fluctuations. Since then the “Heavy Filter” option on the MAP reading in WARI settings has sorted me out without the welding tip. Check that thats set.

Its defo not caused by anything you’re doing, is it? And only on WOT? Or heavy throttle too? Or on throttle transition?

Try taking a log of a long pull in, say, 4th and watch the rev counter and note when it misses, as close as you can - if you can get three misses on a single pull at full throttle in a log, with an idea where the misses are, we can look specifically for something around those RPMs.

Doesn’t matter so much just back up your current map file as soon as you plug in to the ECU. FIRST thing you do, if you dont have a current backup.

I don’t believe that’s it anything that I am doing, well not consciously anyway.

As I said it seemed to have fixed itself 100% when I put the the new plugs but then all of a sudden it started to miss after 50 or so miles. It does only happen at WOT from memory but isn’t specify to RPM. I will once I’ve sorted a laptop do some logging and do as you suggest.

Regarding closed loop, my plan is to earth my AFR gauge with ECU as previously Scoff couldn’t use closed loop, he said that was the issue?
