Your feedback on the forum upgrade

One other thing, when I make a post (using Internet Explorer 11.0.96 on my laptop) I don't see my post until I refresh the page. However, all is okay when I edit and then submit a post.

Has the 'Your posts' option disappeared too?

I am looking into the submit and return to the forum issue.

10 years I ignored various forum links, and now I'm trying to remember what they looked like and what they did!

So far I've found Internet Explorer does not automatically refresh the page when you hit submit button. (ie not working properly with Ajax)

Geeks all over the world are complaining to MSoft about this IE failure. I did chuckle when one guy from MSoft support suggested they used a decent browser LOL

Interesting James, so seems like this is specific to the Ajax/IE combination. How was it implemented before the PhPBB upgrade, since it worked perfectly then?

Well it didn't use Ajax before so just refreshed the whole page a short while after the "What would you like to do next" messages, now Ajax simply updates the topic immediately/faster.

PS I use FireFox and haven't touched IE unless directed to test things out on various lesser browsers. :)

Ah, okay so that is where PhPBB have found the said improvement in performance.............at the loss of functionality with regards to IE.

I too use Firefox and Chrome, but IE remains the main browser for historical reasons, even though it is the most inefficient + all my favourites are stored under IE. Perhaps I need to look at changing my main browser.

Following the forum update, do we not get email notifications when a thread one has replied to gets updated with other posts?

I no longer receive email notifications. :(

Same as the old forum, one needs to be subscribed to a topic to receive notifications. Check settings in your User Control Panel.

Indeed James. The topics I have subscribed to are shown below, and I had set up email notifications, which worked until last week. How do I access the view shown in your post above?

Hi James

I'm still getting the same issue Jamie was experiencing with regards to not being able to view images. Tried logging out and back in to no avail?
