From speaking to Mr C. its due to noise regs. Why send all the noise out of one side , when you can split it in half ?

my cars phase 1.5 r5gtt stage 2 tuned Audi s3 and a Clio Williams 1 which needs some work and will be getting fully restored in the future to original

Dre I'm pretty sure your 5 is a standard phase 1, not 1.5 mate. Phase 1.5 started on E plates
