This got me thinking - it's a pretty mint Renault 9 GTL spotted in Portugal

I jokingly suggested the guy that spotted it chuck the whole thing in his van for me and bring it home so I could shell my 9 Turbo into it (yes yes I know its wrong-hand-drive) because it'd save a fair bit of time and effort in de-rusting here there and everywhere.
But - how would you view this in relation to the car still being the car you know and love?
I have had my 9 Turbo since the early 2000's. Would it still be the car I am emotionally attached to if I changed the whole shell over?
If I bought this assuming its rust free, and shelled my turbo, would I regret it?
