No, it's more severe than that... I need it! [smilie=bowdown.gif]

WTF's it doing the other side of the pond?

I don't think shipping will be any more than £1 - 1.5 k and it is not likely to require an SVA as it's not road legal.

They crop up on http://www.racecarsdirect.com relatively frequently and normally in mainland Europe.

There was one from Spain (for example) about 2 weeks back £17k including some spares.

Also seen a couple on motorsportads.co.uk - they're actually not that uncommon and definitely easier to get from mainland Europe than the States.

Shipping could be as little as £500. I have never bought a car from the US but I have bought a few from Japan and they usually cost around £450 each to ship plus loading and unlaoding fee's which is based on where the car is in relation to the port.

Then you need to add Duty and VAT, which IIRC duty is @ 10% on the price and then 17.5% on everything.

It would fail the SVA hard tho so it would have to be purely a trailer queen for track days.

I used to always keep an eye on racecarsdirect. As you say there has been a few on there around the world.

BUT TBH i've spent too much on my road car now. :(

This one appears to be a minter though. Some of the ex race cars have seen better days too...
Shame it's soooo far! :(

I would'nt be too concerned about buying an ex race car to be honest. Assuming it's not sat for ages it will likely have been well looked after (remember you can't win a race if you can't finish). In theory you'd be buying one of these to use on track-days so cosmetic excellence is a reduced factor....
