Last few days, at the begining of my journey mostly the following happens.

Turn into a right hand turn, at medium pace, 20 ish if not slower in 2nd gear. From the rear of the car you can hear a high pitched whining sound as if your reversing quickly.

Pretty sure I had the trnsmition oil changed a few months back?

Could this be the rear diff etc?

Bloody hope not

Help!!!!!!!!!!!

never thought of that john. What would people reconmend doing? Shall i go to a dealers or what? arrrghh

Change transmission oil to see if any metal particles come out. hope not.

Jack up and see if C.V. joints worn etc.

just spoke to a mate who rekons it could be the powersteering??????????

john, i really wouldnt know how to check a cv joint or the transmission oil lol

anyone know what i should do?

noty sure if i should drive it to say SG or k-tec as it may do damage

ahhhh

sounds like the power steering fluid level is a bit low, give it a check. You may have a slight leak(probably steering rack)

Aparently power steering leaks are common on Vee's.

I had one myself. But just a slight "weep" tho. Fixed under warranty.

Peter :D

can you check the power steering level?

also, what gear box oil do i need and how much for a re fil?

yes you can check the ps fluid level :? .
Use whatever oil renault recommend for the box. The gearbox oil will probably be ok unless you can see oil coming out.

I can't tell you which particular Elf oil is required for the gearbox (think it's a TRx but I can't remember if the x=Z or x=J), but I do know that it is very specific and different to the oil normally used in that box type on other Renaults. Hence make sure you get the exact one!

i got the right oil spec from renault today

think i am just going to get a 36k miles service and cam belt done in the new year and put my mind at rest, plus, all this work will need doing in the summer when i want to be driving it anyway

problemo was powersteering fluid being very low and gear box oil being non existent. aprrently there is a breather on the gear box oil so it is possible to loose oil.

very happy now
