While we are on the subject of colours

Over the years people have asked me to described the various colours.

Some of my most honest replies....

Iceberg. A sort of dull blue'ish glossy silver, but with a subtle class about it.

Titanium. Strikingly fast and wantable.

Mars red. A red with added wow factor when the sun shines.

Illiad blue. Have you seen those Scubyroos on the seafront?

Liquid yellow. In your face with a gorgeous orangey tone as you walk around it.

Acid yellow. Kinda poorly urine, but funky 70's green in the right light.

Deep bronze. Sort of a mature up market choice with tones of copper, bronze and black. Looks like dull boot polish when the sun isn't out.

Inferno. It's like commercial van orange, but much, much better in real life.

Black gold. Very glossy when polished frequently. Cheap and tacky with black wheels.

Petrol blue. (Paddock green) Would suit a Vee, better than a 182, would be nice to see one.

Lunar grey. Urmm it's like grey, until you notice it's not really.

Moonlight blue. As bad as I expected, needs permanent spot lights on it.

Couldn't agree with you more as regards Moonlight Blue - I could not understand the fascination with this colour, but was quite underwhelmed when I saw one for the first time at Origine RS 2014.

Was Petrol Blue an official colour offered in the UK?

I was very much the same, but I'm yet to see one that's been properly detailed.

Petrol Blue was certainly an option.. but out of the 2-3 officially made, not one has been seen. :tumble:

I've not seen moonlight in the bright sunshine...but yeh. It's not a 'great' colour.
I have and it is rather underwhelming, bit like the brick red primer look of Inferno, wouldn't be looking for either!

I noticed recently that Petrol Blue was removed from the official Dieppe Sales data for the v6. (typically I cant find it on Renaults website now!)

I'm confident there were none and the two previous stated where actually Illiad.

That would be Moonlight Mark. Probably Gaetan's car.

Petrol blue is a green/blue colour.

The French lot refer to Petrol blue as a myth!

That's one of the reason why I like the Lunar Grey so much!

Also reminds me of the Transformers (cartoon version) theme song ".....more than meets the eye"
