Where does this tube go?

After finishing the rebuild of my v6, I've found this little tube laying in a box - and for the life of me I cant see where it goes or what it does.

Its from the rear tailgate opening mechanism. I initially thought it was from the washer tube assembly, but it's not.

Any ideas?

Mine never had one but I'm sure I've seen them on other cars.

yes there is a rubber tube fits on the bottom of the plastic boot under the bonnet

I know because mine got lost but sounds like everyone else lost they'res too!

I guess that means a lower score if i enter a concours event in the future lol

Mine was missing when I got my vee, I ordered one from renault

I didnt have one on my old v6, so was a little suprised to see it on my mars as id not seen one before.

I guess its to drain water from the storage compartment and aid its run off through to the floor.

Have you had your tale gate lock out, there is a tub atattched to the boot lock/central locking in the tail gate

I finally got round to fitting this tube back in place - was quite simple in the end. As mentioned above, this is a drainage tube for the tailgate handle.

This is the tube in question

It attaches top left - which would be bottom left with the tailgate closed.

It then goes to a hole in the bottom of the tailgate.

I fed it in from the bottom of the tailgate with the black plastic outlet on the outside.

I assume without this tube, any water getting into the handle would drain inside the tailgate.
