Whats required to fit a williams lump into a valver?

G

Guest

This has probably been asked a thousand times but i just need to be clear what is required to be able to run a 2.0 williams (not megane) engine in my 95 valver.

Am i right in thinking all i need is the engine and ECU?

Don't think i need the wiring loom do i?

Am i better running the valver manifold or williams manifold?

Thanks for any help.

if u use a willy manifold u will need a willy down pipe and decat or cat as flanges are different on the cats

Use the engine loom that is original to your car and engine. If your using a valver head use a valver ECU or if its a complete williams obviously use a williams one :P

Thanks everyone 8)

Isn't the valver manifold on a willy engine meant to be better for torque on a valver?

Will a williams manifold not bolt straight onto a valver downpipe?

as above

use ur current loom

use williams engine and ecu

if u want to use willy manifold, will need willy downpipe and decat/cat aswell

thats it

Valver manifold is better for torque on a valver engine, but as you dropping a full williams engine in best to keep the williams manifold with one of the above solutions, iirc valver manifolds can be a bit restrictive on williams lumps.

mine runs fine on a Williams ecu, Ported valver head on megane bottom end, made 141bhp at the wheels with valver manifold so they aint that restrictive, since putting a supersprint on ive gained a little power up the top, but not Worth the £375 from K-tec that i didnt pay otherwise i would have probably been a bit annoyed! If you have a williams Manifold, Downpipe and decat then use that, but mot time will be a right pain in the arse! Valver cat wont fit to a williams downpipe as aaron said because the flange is at a different angle

Yeah that a good point about the williams exhaust and cat, it will get expensive as i will need the whole lot come MOT time.

Might just stick with the valver manifold.

I got away with using the willy loom in my valver, but they're both '96 cars and the looms were very similar when i compared the brown and white plugs.

Fires up without any issues so i guess i was lucky!
