What have you done to your Retro Renault today?

pretty much especially if you don't hang about.

nowhere near fast enough for their economy. The lph on live data is about 3 times that of normal engines at idle.

the turbo rx7's were much better on fuel.

Still it looks nice.

The s60 is only low 20's, single figures with hard use.

So much for the MOT flier...........hit big pothole last night and the suspension strut has parted from the engine bay...........crap,limped home and Avi unsorned till I see the full damage and much welding I think grrr regs Sc

wipers.

Intermittent wasn't working. Checked and a popped fuse. Replaced and drove home. Wipers on heard fuse pop and wiper sped up.

Decide I'll bang in another wiper relay and change fuse.

Do that and all is good.

Pull old relay apart a couple of dry solder joints.

Only lasted 23 years before needing repair. Poor show Renault, poor show

The wiper relay fix seems to have sorted it. So basically swapped it with another 23 year old relay from a tub. I expect at least 10 years from it.

I need front tyres again on the 19 though. Not even a year and down to the wear markers. Trackings good though nice even wear. Rears which were swapped at the same time are as usual practically unworn.

Things spinning the wheels to easily now as well.

Uniroyal rainsport 3's top tyres. All our cars run them now.

Expensive month this month. S60 needs taxed and the insurance is up but it's going o the trade policy, the rx8 needs tyres and tax, the cbx needs mot'd and taxed and me to fit a new front tyre (sitting here) and the indicators sorted.

Fecking tax on the s60 and rx8 are 285 each for the year.

yeah I know. I always used the "you think your dear look at ireland" etc.

But I'm still gonna moan about it.

I need to fuel the 19 up again. Lasted a week though so not bad!

Tried to tax the s60 needs a new mot from the date of the tax and mune runs out on the 1st. I had planned to do it next week as I have an mot course and will be over at the station with a few cars but I guess this week it will need to be.

On the bike front had to do a front wheel bearing and fitted a new front tyre.

I need to pull the carbs and clean them and need to sort out the rear caliper and an indicator relay then I can take it for its mot and I'll just tax it next month.

Pumped up the tyres on the supervan.started the ratnault and 16v chamade.moved them around the garden. Thats about the limit on the renault front.was working on the bike for a few evenings and done a bit with the ride-on mower.no progress with the ph1 project until i get it onto a dolly.

Done a few bits on the supervan.replaced a tyre on the back, replaced a knackered glow plug and fixed the broken check strap. Now im off to roller paint the manta matt black and "lay the rubber road to freedom".

Went at the DEVIL today after stareing at it for several weeks.Bolted up a diesel subframe, shocks, hubs to get it movable.have a flipped and 180* rotated LHD steering rack on it so can be steered with a vice grip from the engine bay.jizered the engine bay and its own subframe.hope to get the underneath/bay power washed during the week.

Full front n/s strut fitted.....spring upper mount and shock had been destroyed. Awell Avi back on road and 19 has 120 mls on since mot. Summer project for paint and trace water ingress....god I wud sell the wife for window rubbers !! lol

Done today........swatched a 300bhp 19 on ebay..mega mods but at £4500 seriously tempted. Would tone down a bit and re install rears seats but awesome ...??? Regs Sc

£51 to fill the thing today.

I fear this gearbox is not long for this life.

Its also not happy with the oil in it, its leaving blue smoke on hard acceleration. 0w30 a bit thin even though plenty of pressure.

Just about to hit 155k miles as well.

Stripped the sunroof and its toast...rotten edges for the rubber seal........Phase 2 electric...anyone have a good un spare cheers Sc

Took it to the Autoshite meet at the riverside museum. Never washed it and it was wearing a steelie due to a bit of tyre drama the other night.

Speaking of which I have some first world problem drama.

I fancy a change. I currently run Rainsport 3's on everything, by everythign I mean everything is running them except the rx8 and the bikes.

But I feel its time for a change. So I'm stuck witha choice.

The 4 I have shortlisted are;

1. Conti Premium contact 5's
2. Hankook Ventus S1 Evo's
3. Dunlop Sport Bluresponse
4. Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde's

Why these tyre? 'Premium' tyres and relatively new at that, the oldest being about 3 years old.

Obviously due to the small size of the tyres I cannot use cool stuff like Michelin Primacy 3's etc.

Cost isn't an issue either, they just have to perform and lasting more than a year or so would be nice too.

The old toyos (t1s and the t1r) and the uniroyals wear out pretty quick, even if you rotate the tyres.
