spent the whole day at the ph1.finished replacing wires on the headlight loom and have everything taped up with sillage tape.dash back in and most bits and pieces back in place.just have the steering wheel and heater controls to do.would have had it all done except the bottom heater flap is seized up.snapped the control knob off trying to turn it.. had a spare so not too bad. spent 2 hours trying to free it with wd40 but it just got worse. its soaked in it at the mo so might have freed off by tomorrow.if it doesnt,im just gona set it on the windscreen and not connect it at the controls.the missus has a habit of interfering with my knob and dont want it to break off in her hand:lol::lol:
heater didnt free up so left it it the windscreen position and didnt connect the control.sunroof wouldnt open all the way due to the cardboard that is stuck to the underside of the roof skin hanging down.removed the sunroof and ripped put what i could of the cardboard. dont know what the idea of it is.
gave the diesel cham a pat on the roof. just hit 200k on the clock and still plugging away. unfortunatly its hanging up its keys as my daily driver shortly.
Didn't do it today but at the weekend I fitted the replacement door switches that Chris sent me. The interior light now comes on automatically when I open one of the doors. The height of decadence!
Now prepping for MOT tomorrow, been off the road for a year or so now, so most of that prep will consist of ragging it up and down the bypass and breaking heavily.
sent the 92 supervan in for its doe.failed on rusty sill(fair enough) no rear reflector?(blind cunt) no weight plate(blind cunt again) no fog light( passed several times before without one) and wishbone bushing.not too bad considering i more or less done nothing to it only swapped the wheels
spent sunday working on the supervan.cut out the rusty sill and welded in a new piece of metal. replaced wishbone with 2nd hand one that was on the shed.wired up an aux fog light and fixed it to the tow bar bracket.ingraved the axle weights onto the vin plate, even tho i had one fixed to the slam panel already.
light smoke but the fail sheet said it has over 65% light block.il be putting the tints back in as soon as it passes.cant have the chicks crashing into me coz they can see how handsome i am now!!!!! haahaa!!!
Fitted a new actuator for the passenger side lock mechanism and now it works and beats having to reach across to lock and unlock the door - very modern.
And fitted a set of Alpine sxe speakers as the old ones were the originals and had started to crumble away to nothing were they join. Replaced the tweeters in the dashboard with 4 inch ones and the sound is completely different with the cone and tweeter set-up. Have to see how we go..
Fired up the 96 supervan and the ratnault and put them back into the shed.went poking at the ratnaults sills(or lack of).are ya supposed to sweep up a car???? Gave the 92 supervan and the cham diesel a hoover out and polish.didnt bother with the outside coz of the roadworks on our road.they wouldnt be clean for long.
