went at the ph1 hatch tonight. took out the dash to get at the burnt/charred loom.took the loom out and went through it wire by wire.replaced 23 sections of wire so far, some had up to 5" of exposed copper wire!!!all soldered in and replaced with wire of the same gauge and the same colour where i could.dont know what the cause is but there was an aftermarket alarm fitted and someone had been at the wiring for the front fogs.surprisingly everything still worked on the car.still a few more to repair and then the fun starts, trying to get the dash back in.
worst job ever, i hate dealing with the loom or even taking the dash out, me I refurbed the window rubbers/surrounds today, not perfect put literally a million times better than they were
probly could have made it easier if id have took the steering wheel boss off first. have to break out the hot glue gun out aswell.the dash had been out before and some tick CoUNT broke it in shite.
spent 2 hours replacing more burnt wires.still a few more to do. should have just got another loom!! its gas, not many of the wires are burnt in the same place.its fairly random as is the severity of the burn back.some have 4-5 inches of insulation missing, some have been melted and some look like they have been stripped on one side along its lenght

think it might have been the wiring for the front fogs.its been replaced with much heavier wire back to the fuse board and tapped into a very light wire.
dont know why people do that, if they dont know what there doin, leave the fukin ting alone.had a little 80cc bike once and yer man that had it before me put 2 looms on it!!!. the original to run the engine and a 2nd one from another bike to run the lights.
someone smashed my daily's rear screen so the chamade has come in handy for work until Autoglass get the part in stock. Got the chamade washed at work, great when someone else does it
finished all loom repairs.used the hot glue gun to fix any loose parts of the dash.have the loom strapped back in and fuse board fitted. hope to get the dash back in tomorrow with the help of my beautiful assistant, if she wont help il have to ask my missus
