Weather was with me and my back wasn't too bad (it is now).
So today box out, clutch off, all cleaned up all back together ad driving.
Took just under 3 hours which wasn't bad.
Things you notice about a 19 16V after being away for while (7 weeks in my case)
1. brakes are crap, I need to do a modern conversion.
2. You feel every small pebble on the road
3. They are quite small and fit through tiny gaps
4. Good on fuel
5. They don't roll so you look at the speedo and your going quite fast
6. headlights are pish but tbh i don't think i have ever changed the headlight bulbs in the 10 years I have had it.
I am at a crossroads with the blue chamade as next may thats ten years I have had it.
I am thinking of getting another car as a daily and sorting the chamade out getting it how I have always wanted it but that will end up a five year project
I'm really impressed with mine. When i drove a ph2 before it felt very soft and dull compared to a ph1 but this isn't like that at all. 38mpg too which isn't bad
the blue chamades original centre section has had it, the 90 degree silencer box had corroded off the main pipe.
So stuck the white chamades stainless steel straight through pipe on it. So now the only silencer is the backbox, still quiet though, just a bit of a deeper tone, just how I like it.
changed the box oil to a different grade hoping to quieten the noise, no dice, a wee bit quieter maybe. From cheap easy t get 75w90 to the correct recommended renault use 75w80.
Whilst I was at it bent the heatshield s the new straight through section doesn't rub on hard cornering and also changed the reverse light switch so they work again.
got a set of locks and ignition barrell, threw the barrel in, fine, only then I thought to check the locks, key doesn't work with them, lucky I checked before switching, all came from the same donor so I had assumed the key would work them all, never assume
