What have you done to your Retro Renault today?

they look great in the snow though too, renault looks good in any environment, i have a picture of the 19 still in development being tested in some very snowy location

Well I removed the engine from my Fuego, turned out it was easy to do even just on my own, Worst part was dealing with all the bloody vacuum pipes. Now to strip the engine, clean and paint engine bay and all the usual stuff.

changed the coolant early jan.

I think the head gasket has gone, the coolant is clean, no oil or pressure in the coolant bottle, but drinks the coolant, can't find any leaks on the hose pipe or radiator.

It only started to drink the coolant after i changed it, it used a little before but not that much! :SS

hopefully get it mot'd soon.

I cleaned and re-oiled the locking system. I accomplished a working central locking. I also cleaned the electrical windows drive. The windows run up and down like on a new car.

After a while i did some actual dirty work and changed the front bearing and steering arm on the drivers side (passenger side for British readers)

Winter is a grand old time, for that there are no if's and butt's...

The tarmac is out and dry. I filled it up with 98+ petrol and just drove around enjoying a very very very good car and i made some bmw drivers enjoy the taillight after the light got green :)

i put the go faster stripes back on cherrybomb, in white.

Put a tow-bar on the 16v cos I took the supervan off the road.gettin funny looks off lads when they see it pulling what resembles a farmers gate behind it.replaced the rear brake shoes and cylinders on the supervan.sent off the injectors to get recond cos it was starting to run rough.new ones back in only to discover it wasnt the injectors at all,the motor is Bolloxed.Im looking for engine no.5 to go into it now if anyone in Eire has one for sale?1.9 diesel (non-turbo)

Well my fuego is still sitting in the drive with no motor and the motor is half apart in my shed carport thing.

I did receive a full gasket set the other day from renault classic parts. so one step closer. Its just my time is spent either painting the house, working or working on converting my Lada niva with fiat 2.0L twin cam power to injection.

and the 12 is still sitting round. Still can't find the radiator that I took out of it either, which is annoying

I think I better add to this seen as I started it :D

The 19 was looking a bit neglected to I thought I'd better do something with it. I changed my workshop about a bit and got it rolling again, washed it and sent everything away to be powder coated.

We had some bad news 2 weeks ago, my mother in law has cancer and they said she only had a year to live so I advertised my turbo engine to for £1600 and I was going to treat the family to a holiday. She went to the hospital a couple of days ago and they are going to operate remove one of her lungs and a few other parts so she'll have a bit longer than expected :) which means I can keep my engine and my 19 is back on!

Here's a few pic's, sorry I haven't updated my project report I will get round to it at some point.

I put a post in here of the cabbies progress on Saturday but it said it had to be authorised by a mod and it's not appeared yet. Can it please be looked at? Cheers guy's.

Done a few things, enjoyed the climate in the Safrane. i don't think I can go back to not having a/c again.

Looked at the blue chamade as its back in its old position after the fiesta went.

Looked at the white chamade its tyres down, rim leak should pump it up.

Had to hard reset the laguna to regain throttle control. Its going and soon.

Replaced the servo in the 16 valve clio cause i split the other where it presses together. Took it for a drive not as quick as i thought it should be. Shorter geared than what i'm used to 60 mph @ 3000 rpm in 5th. Handles alot better than a tigra.
