The rock-hard brake pedal is one of the things I love about the 19 (totally agree re. modern cars - more stopping-power/no feedback), along with the sensible (some say heavy) PAS, I feel more in control of the 19 than any other car I drive.

Fit a bigger main brake cilinder,brembo calipers and bigger discs, stops like crazy and have a rock hard brake pedal :lol:

Hi Phase II, would I be right in thinking that Brembo calipers from a Peugeot 407 will fit straight onto the 19's hub? If so, would there be enough clearance for the original 15" wheels?

Looked at it, then used some silver screen polish on the glass.

Looked at it a bit more and decided I need to do something with it.

No need to keep it as a proper car, I have proper cars, I need a toy. Have ideas.

I put it out the way in my mums garage as I had too many cars at my work and the house.

That was last week I miss it though.

I'm back down to 4 cars just now so I might get it back before I'm back up to 8 in the next coule of weeks.

Sadly had to take the supervan off the road as a workhorse.front wheel bearing is goin and pulling it all over the road,no heaters,using coolant and dirty oxidized paint work.have no 19 on the road for the first time in 15yrs.

Sad times but its easy fixes really.

Wheel bearing is a 20 minute job if you have a press.

Coolant depends on whats the issue.

Wrong time of year to be rollign about outside though.

I saw my chamade the other day when I visitied my mum, took the pump out to pump up the petrol s60's tyre when I was there.

Anyway laguna goes tomorrow so I have a space again so might bring the 19 back out.

Done the wheel bearings several times and it is handy enough alright.dont kno if its the head gasket goin or not.it has very fine bubbles rising in the header tank but its been like that for over a year.never overheats but i do have the cap loose on the tank.ideally i'd like to restore it so its better to take it off the road before its gone beyond doing. Also( and i have to agree with the the old lady)it looks bad pulling up to a job in it.people might think your a cowboy.its being replaced by a very tidy mk4 golf van.TDI 130BHP & 6sp.

I done nearly 50k in my chamade with a blown headgasket. So they can last. Cracked a few header tanks and I had to bleed the rad screw out.

I know what you mean in regards to its the time now. I'm at that point with mine. It needs sorted now before it goes to far to be worth it.

Sadly work vans are in that area where you need a 50 year old van or a nearly new one. A mid 90's or so van just looks like your some waster.

Ha,yer probably right about the waster bit.i know plenty of wasters in fresh vans aswell tho.happy with the golf.it pulls like a train even with a trailer and garden shed in toe.dont think a 1.5 dci would be up to the job.

Fitted a set of window rubbers from a scrapper off gumtree all in good condition....yaaaaas ! (he sent all the internal ones too which I didn't need) and fixed the leccy window regs SC

Removed cracked windscreen (easier than I thought it'd be, I used an old G-string from my guitar), repaired a couple of holes in the scuttle panel, and treated the remaining surface rust. New windscreen being fitted tomorrow, in preparation for the MOT...

National Windscreens.

I'm told they have a branch in Glasgow, and should have no problem getting one.

Nicked the battery out of the supervan for the T25.

I took the 19 out for the first time in a couple of months.

Its not been started or touched in that time. Put the key in and it started no bother then took it out for about 20 miles and put it back.

Took it out for a run today. About 35 miles.

All good.

Feels slow but thats because I'm running about in the T6 with double the power.

Replaced the rear engine mounting. What a b1tch of a job that was!! Several hours and much swearing later, the judder and vibration are gone. Gearbox mounting will need doing soon - easy job though.

More filling, more sanding, more priming, should be on track to get her finished by May (late May)
