what did you get for Christmas

Yikes!!! Luckily the agreement with my ex and me is pretty amicable. I have my kids 90% of the time so I musn't complain. No court order required. It's another thing that means I have very little "me" time but they are worth it!

Glad your situation is a little better now.

glad to hear it, from your post I'd assumed the situation was worse & my Dad's-rights senses were being alerted - I was about to don my spiderman costume & climb a soapbox

Very good and thank you!!! Dad's rights very important. This is one of the only disagreements we have had. I didn't think it worth fighting for as the fallout would have been worse than the original issue.

Anyway, I did enjoy the day and got to Skype the kids after lunch so that made up for it. Bonus is that I should have them all day next year, but we'll see how that one pans out!

I really did enjoy working on the A610 instead so that was some comfort.

Yes I was thinking that exactly - your turn next year! Agreed the A610 would have taken my mind of it also

I used this lot

I never needed the legal route, luckily. We don't even use the CSA. When we split, I told her in no uncertain terms I expected her to behave appropriately as regards the children and i'd make sure that they never went without, would always be there when I said I would and I over-pay maintenance every month, on time. I went on to explain if she fucked me about like you see all-too-much i'd put her in the ground and they'd never find the body.

I prefer to think that common sense prevailed, rather than the threat scared her into compliance. We have spent every xmas and birthday since we split in Oct 2010 together as a "family" for the benefit of the kids, this year was the last year as the kids are old enough now (10 & 8 ) to understand. We had xmas dinner at her house, me, her, the kids and her OH. He seems like a decent bloke and the kids like him. We behaved like adults, it wasn't uncomfortable. As a thankyou for having me i've sent them out for dinner together on me, when I have the kids. The biggest issue was explaining to my GF where I was going for xmas lunch lol, but she's accepted it.

Thread hijack! lol!

That is some good going mate, glad it worked out for you all. The kids are far & away the most important in situations like this. I let all finances & everything else burn while I sorted out the court orders, as I knew what could potentially happen (loss of relationship with kidda)

So, to continue the point, for Christmas good memories are the best presents (sound like an old fart i know)

Bit late but I had a great time. Olivias first ever and Poppys' first where she could take it all in. My eldest, Jamie, who's now 19 came to stay with us. I've not spent an xmas with him since he was 14. His Ma liked to think he's 7 still.

On a gift front I got well and truly spoiled.
Adidas have re-released my fav trainers (Busenitz) and so the missus got me 2 pairs, I got Forza 6, some nice beard oils, a subscription to Practical Performance Car, a healthy contribution to a smart watch I have an eye on and then my sister turns up and hands me an MSV voucher for a full track day along with a speech about me always working my nuts off and being a great Dad - she had me in tears.

My birthday is a week later and up pops the missus and Jamie with Hotels, flights and 2 tickets to see Barcelona v Seville in Feb.
