what did you get for Christmas

Well it's mid morning on Christmas day so what did you get?
For me it is a bar of chocolate, two cans of something (not unwrapped ) and a T shirt and best of all sitting in a car parking spaces whilst others do the present run.

hubsan q4 nano quad to add with the syma x5c and the custom monster. great fun bombing it around the house. also 3 more haynes manuals to the renault collection r4 r14 and r16 from the mrs. The little ones have made out like bandits and still have 2 days of family visits yet. Jenson is more interested in the box's at 9 months old rather than the contents.

A lightened Flywheel from CGB (4.8kg)! I really wanted a TTV Steel Lite (3.3kg) or a CTM jobbie (3.5-4.0kg), but funds didn't stretch that far.

I got a rather nice telescope! Computer controlled, tracks objects? Now have to turn into Patrick Moore to work out what it is I'm looking at apart from the moon!

Time with my kids, my ex agreed to adjust the schedule so I could have them xmas night.

Time with my parents, after seeing some shit go down the last couple of years with my friends I realise how lucky I am to have two fully functional and healthy parents at 38 years old.

The material things don't really matter that much.

I got another NextBase 402G dash cam. It's a pain swapping them between cars so I am glad to have another. Never captured anything remarkable (much) - thank goodness!

And you could call the A610 a present to myself :-)

Unfortunately I didn't get to spend any time with my kids. A bit sore about it but my ex insisted, even against the kids' wishes.

Never mind. It worked out in the end. I tried not to be too sad and instead spent most of the day fixing the A610's dashboard (see my 21 Turbo fuel computer thread). In lieu of being with the family, some me time (in short supply these days) was the next best thing!

well said Dave, my parents are getting on a bit now....drive me mad sometimes but they are both in not bad health happily. Da is complaining he is stll working at 67, slowing down now. Over Christmas my Grandma was taken into hospital - she's 95 but hopefully will be back out shortly, back to living in her council house on her jack!!

On the subject of seeing the kids...I have a court order for me to have the bairn 100% when I am in the UK (2-3 weeks every 2 months atm), and while I am out he stays at my parents' 1-2 nights per week (another court order). The rumour that grandparents have no access rights is not true btw. Anyway he is old enough to say what he wants now, which means a great deal when backed up by a court order - so had him all Christmas, which I was happy about. The ex dropped his presents off Christmas morning. Not so many years ago the situation was opposite & she threw the presents I brought him out of the door.....how times change :D

I used this lot http://www.silkfamilylaw.co.uk/

Yikes!!! Luckily the agreement with my ex and me is pretty amicable. I have my kids 90% of the time so I musn't complain. No court order required. It's another thing that means I have very little "me" time but they are worth it!

Glad your situation is a little better now.
