Weird Wiper Problem

Cabbie is being prepared for Summer and battery put back in after a winter on trickle charge.

Wipers will now not stop. Got slow and fast but no intermittent but will not turn off at all. Before I waste a whole load of time anyone with a clue? My initial guess would be column stalk/switch.

sounds like the stalk to me mate, i had the opposite mine were slow but found out the earths wasnt touching bare metal

the fuse. I can't remember what fuse it is but theres one on an unrelated circuit that can cause this.

But the stalk or relay would be my next guess.

I've had this twice and each time only replacing the wiper motor fixed it. One of those I had off you in fact Chris.

I think the relay is the big blue one under the glove compartment, on RHD cars at least :lol: so if you can get hold of a replacement this would be an easy starting point. Then stalk then motor I suppose.

hm, don't recall.

Well if you bought a wiper motor then that would imply that you should be sent the full mechanism.

I assume it works ok?
