can anyone confirm that the gordini turbo got a 23mm/24mm venturi'd twin choke carb, or did they get a 25/25?
my le car 2 turbo is a 23/24, i just wondered if it was different to a gordini?
They are definitely different models of carburettor. I can't remember the specs. My Haynes carburettor manual has them, but I can't confirm at the moment.
FYI - I have a BRAND NEW carb for the Le Car 2 Turbo! I'm holding off using it unless I really have to. I bought it 12 years ago when I first got the car. Turns out I didn't need it. It was hard to get even then.
i've got the same haynes book.
only reason im asking is that i was gonna start tweaking the carb. - ive fitted the chargecooler and turned the boost up to 15psi. it goes quite well....
however, its runnign 12.6-13.2 afr on WOT at that boost. - i wanna turn it up alittle more, hence ive taken out the 135 main and put in a 145 - ill test it this weekend to see if its made much difference.
obviously the 25/25 venturid carb would let more air in. - i wondered if it was off a gordini NA....
in the renault MR manual the 840-25 engine which im sure is the atmo, has a weber 32dir mark 89 carb with 24/26 choke tubes,then on another page it lists 32 dir 58 and 58t carbs for the atmo?
then i have some IS notes that are an addition to the book which covers some turbo stuff and dated october 81 ,it lists turbo carb 32 dir 75 with 26/26 choke tubes plus jetting ect. so i guess thats one variation, ill have a look at my spare carbs tomorrow i didnt realize there were such differences. my 2 spare carbs are the 23/24 type.
