Water on floor behind passanger seat

Anyone had a problem with water soaked carpets behind and under passenger seat. I can't figure out how it got there.

Yea, I had that problem...quite a bit had managed to find it's way in there...I haven't found out where it's come from yet, what car have you got PH1 or PH2? Mines a mega early PH1 (#2).

I recall a rear light cluster leaking problem. Also check you rear light wiring looms for corrosion.

Obviously check your door seals as water tends to build up on the side steps.

Thanks for info. I have a Mk2 only 1 year old. My car is going for it's first service on Friday (oil and filter £280 - HOW MUCH) so they will take a look.
Is it just me but shouldn't a car that costs this much and top of the Renault range not have these problems?
I have also noticed that behind the drivers seat is a bit wet too.
At first I thought it was the small pipe that feeds the rear window washer but that seems intact. It doesn't seem to be the door seals and the rear light cluster seems an odd one.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I guess there are always going to be a few one off problems when a car is hand made/assembled regardless of price.......maybe the guy that put your car together had a hangover

Check the windscreen sealing strips - the ones on the outside that run down the left and right edges. Water can enter through there, comes in through the bulkhead and then runs along the floor to form a puddle behind the passenger or driver's seat. (At least that's what happens in mine!)

£280 is waaaaaaaayyy too much for the first service!!

I paid £160 at my local main dealers!! get them told!
