Washer Bottle Motor

Hi all,

As i'm in work today I thought i'd spend a little (lots) of my time being productive and sorting out lots of pending issues...

My washer bottle motor appears to have stopped working, no sound of it even wirring (and it's not iced up either) but wipers do work.

I've checked all the fuses in the passenger seat side of the dashboard and they are fine, so I think it is kaput.

Does anyone know if it is a standard renault part and whether the motor is separate from the bottle?

Thanks and happy NYE!

Charlie.

I found some info. Looks like the pump(s) are pushed into the washer bottle.

To reach the washer pump it is necessary to remove:
– the wiper arms using special tool Elé. 1294-01 after
noting their positions,
– the scuttle panel grille seal,
– the scuttle panel grille after removing the two
mounting clips (by pressing in the centre).
When removing the washer pump, it is necessary to
mark the two pipes before disconnecting them.
SPECIAL NOTES FOR REFITTING
Check that the motor is in the park position before
refitting the wiper arms.
Clean the splines on the wiper arm spindles using a
wire brush.
Refit the wiper arms, locating the blade on the marks
made on removal.
Fit new nuts and tighten them to a torque of
1.8 daNm (± 15 %) using a torque wrench.

i fixed mine not so long ago was easy to do once u get the wipers and motor off, renault wanted £39 for the headlight washer motor and £32 for the windscreen washer motor. not sure why because they are the same part number on the motors.
I got mine from europarts for £11 each and seemed good quality but take your old one with u because the one they list for the clio has the wrong fitment! the guy found me one the same i think he said it was same as a saxo or something.

Dead common fault on Clios! I had Mike at Rentech do both my main washer and headlight motors because they both failed at similar times. The main thing is to make sure that you get the correct motor for your bottle, since there are several variants out there. Renault of course supplied the wrong one ... numpties ... and claimed there was no alternative, and so in the end Mike went down and literally showed them where it was in their stores!
