Warranty

 I have taken my V6 to the local Renault dealearship for 2 warranty issues.
Today they advised that they have replaced the radiator & some hoses due to a leak. However, Renault has advised the garage to decline to replace/refurbish the wheels, which have begun to flake/pickle,as it was felt the car had probably been through a car wash!!! :(
I know some of you guys have had the same problems, has anyone actually got the work done under warranty??? [smilie=dunno1.gif]

Firstly please tell me you are not running your V through a car wash (o what a crime!!)

but to be honest even if you did commit such a sin it should not result in the paint coming off. I suppose you could ask for a second opinion from a wheel or paint specialist and go back to Renault with that or ask how Renault on the other end of the phone can see that the car has been run through a car wash ???

or get Renault to put it in righting that the reason they have declined the warranty repair is due to car washing and go to the citizens advise its free !!!!!

Nope only the company car gets that treatment!!

Had an interesting time talking to Renault today.Once I explained to them that only TLC was applied to my V & that I felt insulted by their response, they agreed to go away & discuss their position.
Later I received a call to be advised that they were now declining the warranty on the basis of fair wear & tear. :s -
I asked what happened to the carwash theory???
They then offered me a gesture of goodwill settlement which would not be a warranty agreement, which I declined.
I then asked to speak to a higher authority & was given a new contact number which after several prompts, returned me to the original number :s
I again spoke to their call centre & explained I wasn't going to be fobbed off , so the lady took my details again & e-mailed them to Renault in Maple X.
I then recieved a call from the garage to ascertain the state of play & they are now going to enter the fray-Ive been impressed with them.
I await tomorrow with baited breath. [smilie=hide.gif]

im having exactly the same issues with my vee and local dealershit :D ... my vee s been in twice with the smell of fuel under full load conditions and more recently the flaking of the paint finish on my wheels .. i was so angered by the incompetant grease monkey teling me , the bodyshop has thrown it out as the wheels have been blown over and whoever has done it has used the wrong paint therefore we cant accept it...... i dont even want them touching my car again plymouth mumfords renault.. i just know he s looked at the wheels looking for a clear laquer flaking and thought ... hmm someones painted these wheels silver .. the car is just over 2 years old why would its 1 previous owner go anywhere but renault to have resolved a previous issue .. ive been on to customer services and spent up to 5 mins on hold whilst they drain my account via mobile phone call charges .. only to be told that whatever the dealerships decision was is the way it is ... i ve been advised to go for a second opinion.... anyone know a dealership that realises what the vee is ..? i think there have been a few people with this very same issue i.e flaking alloys renault need to realise this as common failure ...good luck with getting yours repainted keep us informed

Well I waited for the call...................... & finally rang them back @ 14.00 after running out of patience [smilie=evil.gif] .I had to explain it all over again & was then put through to the guy I liased with yesterday.
He agreed to chase things up & ring me back.
I duly received the call but was told that as the dealership had stated that water had penetrated the paint on the wheels(I could have told them that),the warranty department(who nobody will give me a contact number for) would not accept it as a valid claim!!!
They reiterated their financial offer to me but I advised that I would be do a search on the internet tonight to contact a few people @ Renault in their Ivory Towers.

Since my last post on this subject several weeks ago, things have moved on-albeit painfully slowly :(
To cut a long story short,Renault finally agree to meet the cost of refurbing the wheels-HOWEVER they insisted that they choose the wheel specialist!!
I agreed to this but told them that I would only accept a professional repair so be warned. [smilie=bom.gif]
Guess what? I received a call from Renault saying that the refurb had been carried out but not to an acceptable standard and wheels had been sent back [smilie=evil.gif]
Will this ever end???????? [smilie=hide.gif]
I have already missed out on the Castle Combe trip due to this issue but I must not let the Ba****ds grind me down [smilie=drunken_smilie1.gif]
