Megane Video Analysis - HC Brembo vs Grooved Brembo 312mm Discs

Having recently changed up from the R26.R grooved brembo discs...

I have had a chance to try the HC Brembo discs on track now with the DS1.11 pads, and thought it would be good to see a direct comparison between the new and old discs I used....

Can you tell which you prefer - do you think either have better performance over the other?

Both clips show braking into the hairpin on Knockhill's International Layout - around 105mph (110 indicated) down to around 37mph in both cases....

 
Here's more evidence that the .R26.R discs really used to have a lot more to give in them - this is probably a harder stop than the clip above due to me realising a car on the back straight is actually practically stationary!

 
The brembo hc's do get stupidly hot after a good session on track. The o.e drilled brembo did not seem no where near as hot, still put hairline cracks in after a few trackdays though.

I wonder how well the reyland rotor and bell setup fairs ? A few ££ mind
Yes Brigsy, my thoughts as well now I've had a chance to review more footage in detail.

Stage 1 for me has to be the cheapest option, which is DIY brake cooling, the fog lamps are 85mm, you can get an 83mm trumpet that will sit flush, and then the 83mm ducting also - just need to figure something out for the washer bottle as don't fancy £130 for an .R one!

I'll start digging out the skimlinks....
 
GTT/Campus one too small @Brigsy ?

Not sure to be honest ! I cant really remember what room there is to play with behind the megane bumper. A quick sniff round on ebay reveals loads of universal 1ltr bottle and pump kits for a tenner. You would need to fix the megane filler onto it but i dare say it can be adapted to fit with a bit of graft. A more oem solution would be better though if available(y)
