I bought this car over a year ago to break and use the parts on my F2 project. The car was a non runner with a butchered poverty front bumper and a half arsed respray ( no dents filled not sanded down)and lost tax book but was only 400 euro . So after a 6 hour round trip to collect it i made a start to get it running immobliser light was blinking so i swaped the ecu for a phase 1 19 spare i had light stopped blinking and pump was now working but no spark. So i swaped the flywheel sensor for a spare i had lying around turned the key and it burst into life. With the car running i parked it up and robbed the bonnet for the F2 project and used the car as a template to measure door gaps, wing gaps ETC for the F2. Fast forward to the start of this year with the car sitting a year untouched except for taking the odd measurement it was decided to do something with it. So giving it a check over here i decided to rescue it.
Bad points.
Has had front end damage at some point and bumper was replaced with a 1.2 version that was attacked with a hole saw kit.(None of which was my doing)
Bonnet missing (My doing on F2 shell).
Grill missing (My doing again).
1 rear arch bubbling.
Needs brake pipes.
Needs ARB bushes.
Needs new dog bone (but found a new pattern replacement in boot).
Boot beyond salvage.
Both rear chassis legs got tin worm with 6 inches gone fron each side (sounds worse than it is)
Alot of small dents.
Good points (there actually are some)
Every thing works
The interior has no rips
Magnex back box (thats not stupidly loud)

MY plan is to make this a quick turn around project not drawn out like my other 2 projects but we can only hope. But i am off to a promising start after some ebay trawling i have now got a valver bonnet again and a brand new genuine valver bumper. Next up is to get a replacement boot lid and chassis legs from a breakers yard. After that its prep the panel work and do the colour change and fit the half cage from my 1st F2 car. Then fit the assortment of hoarded parts i have for years. And hopefully have the car on the road for 1200 - 1400 euro including the car.

Still waiting for tax book so no progress except for changing the airbag steering wheel for a proper valver one this was again donated from my spares bin.

Still waiting for a tax book. No major progress.Gathered some parts from my hoard to fit, lowering springs, avo adjustable rear shocks, front strut brace, original radio and remote, smoked side repeaters. Also colour change is now off the cards, for two reasons 1: i really like 449 as a colour, 2: i was planning on GM silk violet but the testers i got are coming out to violet its not as scuttle as i though it would be.

Tax book finally granted and ready to collect. The number plate is telling me to do a 172 conversion at some point, but going to try and prep both this car and the 19 for paint together first as they are same colour and I'll bulk buy the paint so both cars match, and getting some of the 19 bits stolen recently has pushed up that schedule.[BREAK=Rear legs ,body prep, primer]

With a bit of free time i replaced the two rear legs, was originally going to just replace the 6 or so inches on each leg but as i intend to keep the car so i decided to do a proper job and replace the legs right back to the cross section in front of the tank.
so with car on the lift i removed tank, aux tank, filler neck, exhaust, rear shocks and equalizer valve. for the leg i used 50 x 100 box section which i cut down to 90mm at the cross section and around 80 mm at the rear inner valance.the welds were seam sealed and the whole lot was given a good coat of etch.

[BREAK=In paint colour change]
Changed my mind again and went for a change of colour. Its 2 pack straight white. and its also the colour the f2 shell is going. So rather than having the 19 and clio match both clios will match. It really cheap the same as the tigra is painted its held up for 5 years so i know it good .
