V6 engine amongs the best?

.....staff at Evo thinks so, and its not come from a certain ex-Clio V6 owner: The best six-cylinder engines ever – evo staff pick their favourites

"In more recent road cars, the 3-litre engine in the Clio V6 is a wonderful power plant. Its sound and demeanour is a large part of what makes the pugnacious Renault feel like a miniature supercar." :salut:

Not bad at all considering the other engines that the lump in our Vees are being compared against!

I think the Renault v6 is a good engine but pound for pound it's a bloody boat anchor. They just weight soooooo much. The 3.5l I've fitted to mine weighs over 60kg less. R32 is a good engine. I lived with one for a while but have to say its performance felt really flat and I didn't particularly like the sound of it above 2500rpm either. Under that however, mostly around town, I loved all aspects of it.

Although I'm a huge fan of the J-Series i'd have to opt for the F4R as the best lump they have made in modern times. It's just SO good at everything, in every format.

I always remember the Honda NSX sounding pretty dam good, 90's CRX vtec or Integra type R were fab sounding 4 cylinder lumps.

Got to hand it to Honda for engines, mind you Jenson Button may disagree this year..... (and not that the average Honda pensioner driver ever revs them anyway)

Ian, you certainly got a point there.

Honda did have some very special engines around 1999-2000.
