Duncan, Do we know this one?

Yes, the previous owner is friends with another member on here and they got in touch a while back. The car was sold by Renault Poole and has since been in Jersey from new.

Blimey! Anyone know the situation with an unregistered car that does not now meet current legislation/ emissions? Because its from Jersey it will be classed as an import so be OK? but if this was in the mainland you would you not be able to register it anymore as a new car? so maybe get a 55 plate etc? otherwise if you can register old stock anytime then manufacturers would not rush to beat deadlines?

I was vexed with these same thoughts... but then consoled myself thinking that it would remain unregistered and unused if it were in my ownership.

Its based on year of manufacture, not register. There are other regs that follow a similar rule. DVLA supply age related plates to classic cars with no paperwork or with no registration. I doubt this will be any different.
