the place i bought car from have foud the problem i had last week was the front tyres scrubbing poss the spring.... they have spoken to michelin tech team and they suggested bf goodrich in std size, also changing size to 195/45/17, what sort of difference will this make?

Too skinny and too small, I thought 205 was skinny enough, might be inclined to understeer more if thrown in hard...standard tyres shouldn't come close to rubbing.

Front was 205/50/17 (637mm) so 195/45/17 (607mm) will have a much smaller diameter. The wheel would look lost in the arch.

tyres that are on now are that size, but new ones rub for some reason, michelin do not make the sport 1 anymore hence the problem i am having

i only had tracking done 2 weeks ago and still scrubbed with the old (new tyres) on, only the origional tyres do not scrub

Is the rubbing only caused on the front tyres and when you have the wheels turned?

If so it maybe the inside of the wheel arch needs correcting, I had this problem with mine on full lock the wheels would rub, so I took it to the garage and they pushed out the wheel arch covers.

Problem Solved :-)

no it's when foot off accelerator mainly.

how you mean hot air drier, please elaborate

I would say that he means use it to heat the inner arch and then re-mould it when it is hot as it will be flexible.

Anyone who uses that solution is a braver man than me !!

why do 205/50/17 michelin ps1's work fine though, tyres that where on car?

now sorted out got new michelin pilot exalto tyres and they are fine, no noise at all well pleased now
