I have 215/40/18 falkens on the front and found they slightly rubbed the arch linner when on the jack with right hand full lock seem ok when driving (no rubbing) I did think of 225's but worried about rubbing.

Thanks for all the replys, have orderd 215/40/18 Falken 425's. My rears are also worn but they were out of stock for 245/40/18. Will get them next month.
BTW 225/40/18 are cheaper than 215/40/18, wanted to get them but did not want any arch rubbing.
probably been said before but remember there will be a speedo error when changing to bigger front tyres, it will read less, obviously how much depending on final tyre size.
Both Mk1 and Mk2 have 8.5 rims on the back and 7 on the front.
Widest recommended on these by tyre manufacturers is 255 rear and 225 front.
As bill patchall says, he has 265 on his 18s without issue.....
Yes I have ps3s and they do rub when on full lock.[/quote]
Does the profile of the tyre look right as the front profile normally looks smaller than the rear?
Im thinking of getting the 225/35/18 on the front as the profie would be 3 mm different than the original size.
I am still undecideing just trying to find out what ones would be best. and get everyones opinion as well!!!
