Last year i turned 25, so i thought i was in for reduced car insurance :D , been rubbing my hands waiting for my renewal.....last friday it arrives  its gone up!!! WTF? what a let down.

tried loads of online quotes and all of them are higher.. what a shitter :x

anyone else paying more this time around?

Cant say the price of premiums has gone down much for me since i turned 25 - clean license since 18y/o - never had an accident but still around £1,400 for 2 cars on a combined policy :( Probaly all those idiots driving with no insurance, tax, etc, that the rest of us ar eprobably having to pay for

It makes no difference anymore. :( There is always an excuse for the premium being damn near identical year on year. You just have to shop around EVERY year.

Peter :?

If you can get two cars on one policy and then put a parent (assuming they have a NCB) as a named driver it should be cheaper.

Got fully comp insured aged 35, full NCB protected, including breakdown cover on a 2 car policy for about £550. (Mk2, £17,000, 6,000 miles per year, social, domestic and lots of pleasure, garaged in Surrey)

...."POSTCODE" is the biggest consideration for any insurance company when quoting you on your policy.....NCB don't stand for a great deal if your postcode is dodgy... :? trust me...I've had quite a bit of experience with insurance since purchasing the Vee...

I dout you could get a better post code than mine. nice quiet village, the trouble is they tend to give you a new customer rate, then your next years renewal isnt so good :( problem is i cant find cheaper than elephant, last years was £614 this time its £660

That's what I am saying...I live in a hamlet out in the sticks...where you pay nearly £200K for a one-up, one-down cottage....I happen to share the same starting postcode digits as one of the most dodgiest council estates in the country (remember the news of the taxi driver being dragged out of his taxi and being run over and killed by his 'own' taxi..?!!  well unfortunately for me, that happens to be about 4 miles away from where I live...(down the valley from where I am) despite 'maximum' protected NCB, I was quoted from £4,500 down to £2,500K (ironically from Sheila's wheels..!!!) initially for my insurance searches....

Patience and persistence paid off eventually....insurance is one MIGHTY scam.....no wonder people drive round with no insurance...with quotes like that......a total nonsence....
