TRW1 Progress Report

Not posted any news for a while so here's a few pics of how the car is developing.
The engine is ready to go in so we can get the car off to be wired.

Brief spec:
TWR dvelopment plenum
TWR sleeved heads
Newman Cams
Omega Forged Pistons
Torque Technique Ltd custom exhaust
Trophy coils
Trophy Flywheel
Tilton clutch

Fuel tank is nearly ready, complete with lift pumps, foam, aircraft sender and custom plate for the unions. All lines and fittings Goodridge.
Water hoses have been replaced with Samco and alloy piping, the Mocal oil cooler is place. Swirl pot and catch tank to be fitted also.
Brake calipers are all there, better AP Racing 4 pots for the front with 330mm grooved discs. Rears are again AP Racing so that we can run the hydraulic vertical handbrake lever, discs are slightly larger than standard at 304mm. Bells are away being fabricated and anodised and due back any day so all of the above should be on the car in the next 2 weeks or so.

Upfront is an electric powersteering pump from a Saxo and obviously all aircon and heating matrix has been binned.

Inside, the carbon dashtop is cut and fitted and the centre console will house all the controls/switches. Day to day stuff like lights and starter etc will all mount on the top section, below will be everything else such as nitrous controls/guages, extinguisher, Traction Control and Launch Control settings.......

Dash itself will be an AIM Strada MXL with built in shift lights, all hugely configureably. No logging necessary as the MoTeC already has it.

Some pics aren't the greatest as my camera phone today had no flash....................

All credit due to Scott and Rupert for their efforts.
Hope to be finished for the Summer..........just when it's raining the hardest!

Like the idea of this new old gits head unit. Nice big buttons for the radio channels and I'm getting used to this new craze of throwing away non essential items.

Indeed it is looking stunning! Looking forward to seeing it in all its armour quite soon. ;)

:approve:

Hopefully we'll get something close to your's with power/torque.......should be a lot lighter though as you say.
I think the Trophy flywheel and tilton clutch will help it pick up a bit better too...........
You're welcome to try it Tim.
Shouldn't be much longer now....... :)

Hope to post more news soon James.
Scott has had more time recently to get stuck in and Steve from GWR is there any day to measure up for the loom.
Still need to wait for MoTeC to launch there new new pdm units at Autosport show which is mid-Jan, they're needed for the final wiring solution
I'm there this Friday so I'll try and do an update.

Tim
