Trophy Spoiler

Will

New Member
Last weekend I won an auction on German eBay for a Genuine Renault Clio V6 Trophy Spoiler. It was fitted to a Trophy that competed in the DMSB Renault Sport Clio V6 Trophy series and a little bit of research shows that the car finished 8th overall in the 2002 season and 8th overall again in the 2003 season with the driver Michael Schulze at the wheel. Here is a picture of the car with the spoiler fitted competing in period:

And some pictures of the Spoiler itself:

Some close up’s of the underside/fixings as I know another club member was interested:

I just wanted to share the pictures, but I also think I got it for a bit of a bargain really, and although I’m not looking to sell it on I was wondering what others might think it is worth?

Very cool!!

What ever you do, dont paint it!! Leave it just so 8)

Id raise James £250 to £300.

Great bit of history from the German Beru Top 10 series. Thanks for posting, ill add that to my trophy research"

Looks great Will :salut:

You might have to get a 'copy' item and keep the original spoiler as is.
Thanks for posting the photo's it's not often you can get such detailed pictures of the underside of the original trophy spoiler and I'm happy to say the reproduction items look identical to the OEM one ;)

Thanks everyone, seems like I did get a bit of a bargain then :). I had thought about re-spraying it but do think it would be a shame to effectively erase it's history. So I guess I have two choices if I want to go down the Trophy Spoiler route, get a reproduction like Phil posted above... Or paint the whole car yellow ;).

Out of interest Phil who makes the reproductions you posted if they aren't one of your impressive creations?

Those must be the Russosport specials that are widely anticipated.

Will, you have PM.

Not yet Kett, just looking into it ;)

I wonder what's happened to the rest of the car??!!

Mark

It's possible that the car was upgraded to the later Trophy spec which would have included a revised rear spoiler and left this one surplus to requirement. I have found the original teams contact details so I could try and find out...

Wow. It looks great. I agree with other comments, don't paint it.

I managed to get an original trophy spoiler earlier in the year. It was painted silver, but the paint was not very good so I had it painted Illiad.

Haven't seen it fitted yet as my Vee is with SG.

I've been looking for a trophy spoiler for a long time now, I'm obviously not looking hard enough.

So have I... but as well as being difficult to get hold of; they are bloody awkward to mount.

There is work underway by a super-talented member on here to recreate an authentic Trophy spoiler together with conventional fittings. Best of both worlds!

Watch this space...

With the help of a super-talented member, I've had a base fitted to my original Trophy spoiler so it uses standard fittings. [smilie=yay.gif]
