Trackday Car Advice & Info

Hi all

Im after some opinions & advice on a trackday car im hoping to start putting together. My initial thought are to base it on a 197. I must stress that the car wont see a public highway. Track only. It will be based upon a complete blank canvas with essentially the whole car being rebuilt. I dont want to have to worry about the dreaded rot or rust however so in terms of the body work, this will remain untouched

Well, in terms of a box, i was going to rebuild anyway with some cryo treating, micro polishing and new syncro's, shims and bearings. Any reason why the syncro fails?

TBH not sure. Will be typical Renault penny pinching I reckon .

Do we know of any preventative measures? Does anybody do a straight cut 'Dog' gearset?

O2m is from a 5spd VW.
Sequential shifters from a company called SQS.

Wonder how much work it would take to get a Ford IB5 box to fit...quaiffe do a full sequential all in for £5k
