Titanium 255 #19 £16,995

Seems like a good, clean Vee, relatively long-term owner (ex-forum member?) - IMO great price.

Interesting comment by the seller
"However the market place has changed in the last few years with collectors now buying these cars as they are few and far between."

That looks like a good car and at a decent price for all involved. With it being on a 53 plate, it must have just had or be just due its 2nd belt change?

Sooner this forum gets over the stigma of cambelts the better! I've never heard of one belt going in the 7 years I've been on this forum!!

At the price advertised I wouldn't bother, or haggle, about whether or not the belts have been replaced, but have them changed, along with all fluids, filters and plugs, as soon as I have bought it.

:approve:

IIRC - apart from one changed by a well known 'specialist' which broke shortly after replacement - how ironic is that ! But I agree cam-belt replacement at published intervals are more for service history fanatics and are only a differentiator when there is a big supply of similar cars to choose from; still preferable but not essential...

Where's the "like" option?...........

Mine is well overdue a belt...And If it breaks, so be it. I'll fix it. What's to say that the new belt which has been sitting in the box for 5 years is any better!...

There are far more pressing things on my car which require mechanical attention! (of course now that I've moaned about this, mine will inevitably snap; probably whilst on track!)

C'est la vie!

Helloooo

I'm not dead. Even though selling vee makes me feel suicidal sometimes! Baby number two is on the way and the house has to be extended so unfortunately time for it to go as I'm crap at saving and don't want to re-mortague. Plus it just sits there never being used. It has sold once but the guy pulled out, told to keep the deposit so not too bad.

Cambelt has been done once but according to the book, due again now. I agree with you guys, if I was keeping the vee longer would push out the change. It isn't damaging the vee just a risk game. I still have the original belt in the garage which looks sound. Over cautious renault in my opinion. Wasn't going to limit sales when you've only got a few to sell, just means they didn't have to bother re-testing.

Anyway, only listed the car on pistonheads as you only seem to get serious enquiries. If anyone is interested give me a call. 07854855018.

Kind regards
Sam
