TIMING

Does anyone know if there would be a problem with the timing alignment of the cambelt pullys, if you were to fit Mk2 cams with Mk1 pullys?

Hi,
As long as the stroke of the crankshaft is the same on both engines it will work, it does not matter because the pulleys are identical. The differance between phase 1 and phase 2 engines was the cams they had different valve control duration the valves were 1mm larger on the inlet side and also the porche programming of the engine management system.

Cold fusion.
