Thinking about a QS

Keep on thinking about buying one, would prefer the standard as to the OMG version though as ive heard than can be alittle boomy at medium revs?

If i cant get one second hand how much is this likely to cost new?

Maybe theres other back boxes i should consider?

cheers

They sell them on K-Tech's site now. Can't remember how much. My 'standard' QS has got louder for sure over time. Has made the car... without the exhaust I think I would of sold it.

I have been a bit confused by all this exhaust business ...

My Mk2 sounds amazing on full chat, and I assume it has a standard exhaust. As a result I don't have any urge to alter the sound.

I look forward to hearing a Vee with a different exhaust, maybe if there are any at the weekend meet, but don't have any immediate urge to change the existing setup.

The QS gives it a voice at low revs. Oh and it pops and bangs too.

Oh and if you can get the tail pipes aligned (different on every car i've seen) it looks SOOO much better than standard. It has larger better quality exit pipes that fill the bumper holes nicely. 8) Also its nice and shiney behind the grills.

Trust me it looks and sounds vastly better than standard.

Only issue is it is louder and thus more annoying on long drives. Not much you can do about that.

Peter how much was the final price in your group buy?

Noticed that noise difference between the standard and OMG versions was only 3 decibels  thought it was loads louder.

Remember decibels is a logarithmic scale.

It also depends how the noise is measured. The OMG will have different characteristics but still ultimately have the same inlet and exhaust pipe sizes.

A quick search found the group buy price was £567.53inc VAT.

The QS is really, and i mean really loud below 3000 revs or there abouts... cant really hear the person beside you... but hey! its sounds soo good! :D

P.s. purchase one buddy!

My Standard QS doesn't crackle, pop or bang at all? Is that good or bad? I think I hear the odd pop on the over run but nothing major! I was hoping that it would have crackled like the very original demo videos posted here!

But yes defo go for one. Worth every penny!

how long have you had it on the car as mine only poped a bit at first, now it dose it more than the ones in the video

Have all problems with the early boxes not fitting correctly been sorted, dont really want to spend 700 quid only to find out i need to adjust or bend to get it too fit.
