Divine had sold to a chap in america who tried to get it approved for import on the "special interest" rule, so in the meanwhile, it had stayed in storage at Divines place.
Perhaps he couldn't get approval for import, so has sold it back to Divine? Bit of a shame for the gent buying it, but good news it stays in the UK.

A very low mileage Ford Escort RS Turbo recently sold at Silverstone Auctions for just over £60k. That's about 3x the going rate for a good example.
This car falls into the same category as it ticks all the boxes that serious collectors want.

Would be interested to know what my uber low mileage 200 Clio Gordini is worth based on this? Only 100 in Blue and 100 in White so in reality rarer than Vees!!
In the context of old mid-range classics it looks like good value to me. You could buy a cracking Cooper 'S' or Healey 3000 for that money, but you would need a bit more for a Twincam Escort or Mk1 Lotus Cortina, which would probably have less than 50% of it's original fabric left.
You'd need another £50k for a S1 E type, although you could buy a project car for £30k and spend another £150k on it in restoration.
Go a bit more modern and you'd get a good driving quality Sierra Cosworth or a pretty mint Escort Cosworth, but you'd need a fair bit more for a low miles Cosworth 500.
The price of classic cars / collector cars has little to do with their value, and it seems that the demand is still very strong for them. The Vee is firmly in the classic car market now.
However, what can you do with a sub-1000 miles car that's worth nearly double the average car due to it's ultra low miles??
I've had a couple of older cars in that category, and after a few years of feeling guilty when I used them, and guilty when I didn't I was relieved to move them on. And pleased as they fetched 3 or 4 times what I paid for them in the pre-classics boom time!

[v6plaque]340[/v6plaque] seems to be in a league of its own, but good value considering the Black Gold ( [v6plaque]341[/v6plaque] ) that was recently listed at £60K, having covered 400 miles.

I think a lot of people struggle to understand the pricing on these cars as they are basing their thoughts on a one car garage. Sure, if you only had the money for one car, spending £60k plus on something like this may not be the logical choice. There are "better" cars out there for the same money that score higher on performance, racing heritage etc etc, take the Ferrari 360 for example. Cars like this LY sub 1000 mile Clio are not going to appeal to people with only one car in their collection however. They will appeal to people with a serious collection who want something a bit different. Jeremy Clarksons comment "That would be in my top ten garage" sums it up perfectly.
