Tailgate window tint film on Phase 1 Vee

Hi Everyone.

Can anyone tell me if all the Phase 1 Vees had the inside of the tailgate window fitted with tint film from the factory ? Do other Phase 1 Vee owners have the same internal tint film fitted from new ?

Looking forward to help with this one.

Many thanks

Jules.

No tint film was used from new on rear or side windows on either ph1 or ph2.

Its possibly the least useful car to have rear tints on across all cars from the last 25 years ;)

Thanks Duncan, good feedback as always.
Yes i agree, i would say the it's the least useful car to have rear tint fitted in the history of the Automobile
It was fitted to mine when i bought the car & i always thought it wasn't standard as why would Renault / TWR fit tint film when they were essentially using standard off the shelf 172 sport tailgates & rear side windows & probably under big time pressures to build the cars.

I'll attempt to remove the tint with a gentle heat gun & great care.

Thanks once again :salut:

Jules.

Some time in it's life my car had a tint to the rear screen. When I bought the car it had the residue left from a tint still on the window.

I'm spending the weekend taking the crap off.

Why would anyone want to put that stupid film on their Vees.

See the engine.

All i can say is that there were some very weird styling ideas used on Vees back in the day lol But back then i guess some of it was all the rage.

My rear window glass & tailgate glass look so much better now without the tint film, so glad i've got rid of that [smilie=yay.gif]
