suspension top mounts changed

scrabble

Had severe creaking banging come from the front of right/left lock. Went to Renault and bought new rubber top mounts and bearings (got ripped off) and then got Subaru garage to change them and do geometry check. Drove it home tonight and it feels like a new car. Creaking etc gone.

If you do buy new top mounts by the way then dont go to Renault. These parts are standard throughout all the Clios and to prove a point, at work we have a 1.2 Clio which is sitting there for scrap. Checked the serial numbers on that and they match my V6. If you need suspension top mounts then go on Ebay and type in 'suspension top mounts' and buy the ones for a Clio 98-02 (thats if you have a ph1 that is)

Just out of interest and slightly off-topic, but did Renault quote you a different price for "V6" top mounts than for the price of a normal Clio top-mount (even though they are the same)?

I didnt ask. I just gave them the reg and it bought up 'V6'. They then gave me the price for both sides (rubbers and two bearings) which came to £120!!!

Went onto Ebay and the same rubbers and bearings were coming out at £20 a side....a bug f**king saving. All you have to do is type in Clio 2 phase 1. Quite a few of the parts on the V6 share the same parts with most of the Clio range.

Dont ever but coils/thermostats etc from Renault. Just go to Euro Car Parts. A lot f**king cheaper.
