I see where you are coming from yes and i know about live mapping but IMO unless you have a more customised car with specific mods it is pointless, the way i do them gives the most possible throughout..

Also to add that is possible without a live map, it would just need setup time on the dyno.

Never heard of an unlock code as such, all they need to do is remove the psop in your ecu, read it then solder on the emulator. They then run the car on the pc basically. In effect the computer is the "chip".

Paul

I think thats what they were going to do - dyno time set up.

Thanks for clearing that up Paul.

I don't know enogh about how these things work. I just repeat what others tell me and hope the bluff works...!

Ant, TBH with the 2 sets of cats, I can't see you getting flames! :( You'd need a full decat for that sort of amusement! Nev can confirm later tho for sure. BUT i'd hazard a guess the lift off pops and bangs will be more noticeable.

Anyway c'mon guys get your names down! This map is giving around 75% the gains of approx £2,000 (inc fitting) worth of full Janspeed zorst with sports cats! Bargain! It'd be rude not to!

Peter :D

If you want flames, get one of the chavtastic spark plug contraptions that fit into the end of the exhaust ...

Martin

If you want fully adjustable maps for all sensors and actuators IMHO you have to go fully programmanle i.e. Motec. Costly in terms of initial outlay and set-up costs and, on an n/a car, probably not worthwhile.

I would be interested to see how, and whether, the Motec owners of the Vee and other 'fly by wire' cars - modify the map for the electronic throttle. I feel as though the ECU in my Vee anticipates my actions & re-actions when driving and opens the valve accordingly and sometimes incorrectly.

I have suggested to some of my Turbo owning m8's who run Motecs to fit an electronic throttle so that they can explore the opportunities of ECU controlled throttle opening i.e. it could also be used for anti-lag in a number of different ways.

Nah that'd look stupid! :P You need 2 of em!

Peter :D

Nice one Peter ...

That reminds me of a chav I saw once with a twin exhaust conversion - can't remember what car though.

Anyway it was a dead give-away when you could only see exhaust gases coming out of one of the pipes - LMAO.

Oops sorry - off topic ...

Update:
After the sucessful RR test I think our best bet is to go with the RSTuning option. If you want to go with another company please post up or PM me. If a few feel that way, then we can do a poll.

We are looking for 5 or more cars to do the group buy. Paul has confirmed if we can get 5 or more cars interested in meeting one Sat / Sun (around RSTunings availability), then we can do a one off London area mapping session. If we can't find 5 to go to London then we need to go to Leeds.

Names so far!

Definates
1)Peter255
2)api330

Maybe's (posted up varying degree's of interest ;) )
1)Kett?
2)SteveCliov6?
3)phillv6?
4)JJ?
5)SimonV6?
6)Ant? - Or is your "burger king" flame grilled remap request a show stopper? ;)

Any more? Bang for buck this is top notch for a Vee!

Guys as you make your minds up please add / remove your name from the above list.

For the lazy price is £245inc VAT & fitting etc.

Cheers
Peter :D

Right, I've had a good think about this over the last few minutes. Didnt take long for me to make my mind up   Put me down as a definite for this map :) . Hopefully we can get enough definites down so it can be done around the london area, although the drive to Leeds could be fun now i think about it

Peter/Martin,
That is exactly what my mate has just told me on the phone :) ...take the cats off or no flames or get a 'flamer kit' (sparkplug up the exhaust!).

If the RS Paul is coming down to London, and if the map is going to take into account the superior QS exhaust then the list looks like this:
Definates
1)Peter255
2)api330
3)Ant

Maybe's (posted up varying degree's of interest )
1)Kett?
2)SteveCliov6?
3)phillv6?
4)JJ?
5)SimonV6?

Assuming the London Meet is on.

Definates
1)Peter255 - London
2)api330 [pls confirm Leeds or London!]
3)AlexV6175 - London
4)Kett - London
5)Ant - London

Maybe's (posted up varying degree's of interest )
1)SteveCliov6?
2)phillv6?
3)JJ?
4)SimonV6?

Any More?

We only need one more in London and we have the numbers to go!!! :D :D :D

I'll will wait for more names for a bit tho! ;)

Yeah there's no flames. Never mind. I guess there's a few more lift off pops and bags but nothing major. The QS people might find it adds a lot more pops though, dunno.

Good post Nev :D :D ,

Are you coming to the "Northern Lakes" meet on the 19th of November :?: I'm sure a couple of us would like to have a chat with you about it

Cheers,

Phill

Yeah hopefully I'll be coming to the Lakes meet. I'm down as a tentative at the moment as it all depends on work commitments - it's looking 50-50 at the moment (which is better than 2 weeks ago when it was looking 80-20 against).

Nev

I reckon it will add a bit more popping with the QS.
Is the map going to take into account the QS back box? With a bit of luck the car might get close to 250 bhp! Just a few short of what it is supposed to have coming out of the factory!

The map will be fine for basic breathing mods such as exhaust and filter. Only headwork, inlet work etc require a totally new base map.

Paul

Paul,
To be clear on this can you comment on the differences if any between the effect on a standard car of induction and back box changes, and the effect on a remapped car. I think the key point is will the effect be the same better or worse. As in we hope to have gained a few BHP will these simple mods, can we hope to have kept that on top of the extra 9BHP?

Cheers
Peter :D

So if I add a BMC at some point it won't make any difference to the map? Don't think I'll get one anyway... there is too much heat in there.

Only thing after this I might spend time doing is heat management. Wrapping the exhaust, cats and manifolds and maybe adding another fan somewhere. We must be loosing a lot of power because of the high temperatures?

The BMC has cold air feed like the standard system. If your worried heat wrap the BMC too! Then you get the increased flow, & noise!
