steering wheel size preferences??

Hi
thinking of replacing my standard wheel on my ph1 which feel like a truck its so big with either a 300mm or a 330mm just wanted to know if anyone has tried either of these sizes??

Also has anyone used a 60mm spacer with an aftermarket wheel? As i dont understand what renault were thinking as the wheel feels like its miles away much like many italian/french cars pedals really close and the steering wheel feels like your reaching for it.

thanks in advance for any help.

I've got the renaultsport sabelt steering wheel which is a lot smaller than the standard one and can honestly say its one of the best mods I've done ,just makes the car more responsive and better to drive :approve:

Thanks for the replies.
Do you guys have a spacer with the sabelt?
Also where can you purchase the sabelt renault sport wheel? and do you need a boss kit, if you do need one i assume you just fit a generic one which will work with any 6 whole aftermarket wheel?

I found mine on eBay ,but they don't come up for sale very often .i fitted a omp boss which it bolts straight to and you don't need any sort of spacer :approve:

Recently tried to email Colin Bass at Wests Renault in Cambridge to order a Sabelt steering wheel.

He has now left but Peter Westwood has taken over. His contact details are as follows:

Tel: 01223-370720 (Try to ring after 10:00am and you can leave a message)

They had 2 wheels in stock. Cost £162.38 + £15.00 postage.

I also have the Sabelt wheel, it's off being retrimmed as it was all manky! Great wheel to hold and far better than OEM.

The 197/200 is an imrpovement if you want to keep it more factory looking!

Thanks Ali. I did a bit of research beforehand and this does seem to be a good wheel. I think the standard wheel is a little too big.

The Sabelt wheel part number is: 7711160037.

There are 5 available at Renault UK.

It is now available from RPD too and their price is a little lower as you get the club discount.
