Hi all this may have been covered before but i couldn't find what i was looking for :( I have changed the steering wheel in the vee to the later one and it all came off ok and every thing fitted back the same BUT the SERV light remains on with the air bag light !!! doh!! would i have to take it to renault for a diagnostic reset or is there some thing i can do to reset it my self? Is it because the battery was disconnected for a while??? (dont really want to take the air bag bulb out lol)
thanks
jimm :)

hi jimm

have you still got an airbag in your new steering wheel. i'm guessing you've changed for a ph2 wheel or something..

Hi Jimm, I persume from the original post it is a 197/200 steering wheel, so it has a airbag. I know there has been a bit of problem with mating the mk3 airbag connectors to the mk2 clio electrics which could have caused the problem?

If it has been wired in correctly i would say yes you will need to take it to renault to have the fault cleared.

Jim, If your local renault anything like mine ( Burnley ) they wouldn't clear fault when I changed my seats as they were not factory fitted seats!!!!!!!

I've got a 197 wheel fitted in my Ph2 vee no problems and no lights :s
Seem to remember somone on cliosport fitted one to 172 and had same problem. Could be the wiring / resistance different to airbag??????
Did the airbag connectors clip in OK, as mine needed a small tab removing first.
Hope you get it sorted as they do feel good ;)

hi, i changed it for a 2004 wheel from a 182. The air bag connector was the same as the original and did clip in . The only difference was the two pin connector was on the top of the later wheel rather than underneath .Really didnt experience any problems untill the battery was connected ,,, then the dash lights illuminated. Thinking maybe as the battery was disconnected for a while? Is there a sequence i can do to get rid of the serv light ? Does look and feel better without the melting effect lol.
thanks
jimm

happy christmas ho ho ho :)
