Speedo stopped working.

Did on my old 172, was the sensor in the box...

Not sure if it's the same pencil sensor as per the above...
 
Yes a couple of times in the last 7 years but each time after restarting the engine and moving off it started working again. It apparently is the "sending" sensor unit which has a temporary "blip".
 
The v6 doesn't have this mentioned "sensor". Each wheel's speed is measured by the ABS system and then routed to a special interface where the vehicle speed is calculated from the 4 wheel speeds. After that it's finally sent to the speedo. So there might be some possibilities of failures but as everybody says: The speedo is the most likely one...
 
My old 255 did this once I the time I owned it, a stop and restart the engine sorted it lol

this has just happened to me yesterday, but when i was driving the vee it kept juddering every so often felt like it wanted to cut out.
does anyone have any ideas before i book it in to a renault dealer.
