Spa in Clio 3 RS Turbo

Yesterday I was in Spa for the "Journées passion Renault Sport" with my brother in his R26.
I had the luck of having a co-ride in a Clio 3 RS with R26 running gear modified to +-270bhp and in a Clio 3 RS with Meg3 RS 250 running gear (standard). They completely destroyed everything out on the track except a modified R26R. Now I wonder why i'm putting my money in the 21T;-)

I want one;-)

I've been fancying doing that for ages, I always far preferred the shape of the MK3 Clio to the big bum Megane but its hard to justify on cost simply because you can buy a Megane R26 for 5k and you would do well to build the Clio for double that and other than the weight advantage I can't see there being that much dynamically between the cars. And for 10k you can get the latest Megane which looks and goes better than both :0)

Very tempted now, my dad allowed me to put an meg2 lump in his R27.
I'm going to calculate costs with the guy who already did the conversion and i'll see.:grin.gif:

Best is i can get it road legal with no problems, even here:yes3.gif:

Planned costs:
2000€ for a meg 2 rs lump. (Sadly this one has no Lsd, but that can be changed later)
750 € to suit the loom from the clio to meg engine & upgrade to 260hp
???€ for new clutch kit and new timing belt
And i'm not sure about this yet because it nearly dublicates the price, but 2500 € for a meg3 miltek exhaust custom to fit the clio. (Sounds to good)

2€ for a "follow me if you can" sticker:grin.gif:

This will probably be my next winter project:-) If so, i'll post a thread.

A lot of things can be got way cheaper tbh. Complete megane engine and turbo could be had for less for sure. Suiting the loom is only reppinning of the connector.

Make sure you get a euro4 ecu (ph.2). For that price you can have atleast 2 one off exhaust systems.

Clutch wise it's best to use a single mass flywheel with r26r clutch

It's the engine with gearbox, driveshafts, intercooler, radiator, everything what's needed.
I know that it is 'only' repinning the connector, but if someone know's how to do it, and has done it before, i prefer to watch and learn instead of trying and doing it wrong:grin.gif:

Thanx for the advice!

I concur that the new one is so much better looking....

I hope to get it registered fast and get more km's on it. Pics and vids will follow.
