SORN & Road Tax

Hi All,

I've SORNed my car for the winter, but my MOT expires in January.

The plan was going to be to tax the car in Spring and then take it for it's MOT, but I'm not going to be able to do this as you can't tax your car online without a valid electronic MOT certificate. I know you're allowed to drive an un-MOTed vehicle as long as you are driving it to the MOT centre, but I would be driving my car with no MOT or Tax!

This is the first time I've SORNed my car over winter, so is there another solution here? Or will I just have to re-tax my car in January before the MOT expires and just pay the few extra month's tax?

Cheers!
Phil.

My car had no tax when i bought it and i always thought you go a few weeks grace on road tax but when i tried to tax it over the phone dvla would n't do it as i had to tax it at the post office because i was a new owner.
But they told me driving with no tax can make your insurance void no sure how true it is but i would n't take a chance fookers will find any reason not to pay out if u have a bump m8
