Some pesky Mintex questions

So I can't ignore the fact that my brake pads are on their last legs any longer ... and I've always intended to go the cheap Mintex route since I don't track my car or even get to drive it very spiritedly that often (hence 26k on my pads!). Obviously given my role on the forum I've read pretty much every post on brake pads over the complete lifetime of v6clio.net but we still seem to be undecided between us on a couple of things so ...

Fronts: Little doubt that they're MDB2207 but stock or the X extreme version? Got to assume that the non-extreme version is cheaper but still up for the job because Mintex do list them as being for the Vee.
Rears: The general view was always that MDB1526 were the ones which makes some sense because the callipers are off a Citroen XM which is the official application for those pads. However, recently this has been called into doubt because of the pads being oversized (in thickness I assume?) and MDB1339-M1144 been mentioned though they're shown as a Renault/Peugeot application. Anybody running the MDB1339 ones and any problems?

So can those of you running Mintex pads please confirm exactly what ones you bought and any problems you've had with fit or not?

Also can anybody suggest the best/cheapest place to obtain them online?

Thanks ... not only for me, but also because it'd be good for us to get a single "club answer" on this one please.

I'll look out my invoice Andy...My extreme pads are still going strong. And are...'ok' both on and off track!

Squealy tho!!

its not the thickness of the rears, its because the disc size is diffrent. fitting mintex to the rear would were down the pad except leave excess pad hanging over the edge of the disc.

Well I never did get to a definitive answer on this one :( ... and I'm down to the last few atoms on my pads now!

I spoke to Scotty, but he's not keeping these in stock now since he can't compete with cheapest internet prices for them. He mentioned that people fitting "Xsara" pads had had the problem regarding them being oversized, and I reckon the MDB1339 are spec'd for Xsaras.

Interestingly tho' www.mintexbrakesonline.co.uk do list the MDB1339 for the Vee. However, I can't for the life of me work out who they represent since you can't buy from them, but they're also not the online system you get to from mintex.co.uk!?

Andy why not e.mail Mintex and ask their advice - sure they will come up with the answer :approve:

Yep ... I spoke to David at K-Tec and he confirmed that they fit the MDB1526 on the rear but that they are indeed slightly over sized.

Mintex never responded to my email to them tho'!
