as some have seen, im selling the 21 in bits and bobs. That doesnt mean that i'll stop with the beloved 21, just gonna build me a new one with more modern parts from the modern renault sports.

For now ive got another project in the pipeline witch is nearly finished. The clio MK1 16 valver. The lump comes from the williams (2.0) and this got turbocharged using Wiseco 8.5:1 pistons and wossner H-profile conrods. Totaly balanced, Tilton twinplate clutch and aly flywheel. JC5-089 (clio sport 172) gearbox with reinforced internals. Steel shiftforks, diff rings removed and replaced with solid ones, longer 5th gear and quaife LSD. Further then that its gonna get the FIA approved rollcage, Gaz Gold suspension with AST topmounts, silicon hose kit and aly rad with spal-fan. Got 2 options on the turbo, the GT2871R and 3071R both with .86 (T2) housings.

Cant tell more about it for the moment because i'm got plenty other cars to finish first. I'm collecting all the parts for the moment and when its all togheter i'll start building.

couple pics,

nice one Jo..

I love my little 1.2 Versailles and its very chuckable even as standard.. these are awesome! I considered a F7P lump.

i do love the valvers go like stink in standard form, had to sell ours :( only ever seen a couple in white look nice.

Your not going to bother with the 6 speed conversion then?
Nice looking car, should be good fun keeping it in a straight line with that power through the front wheels.

yes, i'll go for the 6 speed but after the summer. If you're friend is interested in the PK6 Vee box, got 2 brandnew ones (no refurb!) 770 ? / 900 € pp wich is cheap as chips !

I'll ask him an see what he wnts to do, he was investigating strengthening the jc5 but i'm not sure how far thats progressed.
How's the conversion plate looking?, does it add much on to the total width of the engine and box and what were you doing for converting the drive shafts.

Nice looking phase 1 Jo....you've got plenty going on at the moment...how ya gonna fit it all in...??
Is your Clio the intended Alps bruiser..??

Back in 2000 Mrs Cooke bought a 1.8ltr bacarra (rare manual) as our Paris city car & it was wicked.....went well & had great handling...:-)

first things first, the 21's and 5's are finished begin april, then its my turn. :D

Im prob going down the 172/182 route, Lee's one impressed me massively in Lake District. I need to drop my outlay for a while and the Clio should prove to be cracking reliable fun.

I certainly cant find anything with that rev happy performance/handling that gives 35mpg for ?2-3k....was going Civic Type R but they all either Cat D or drug money to buy and they look like my Nans Corolla lol

change off plans, the white ones gone. Got another shell to continue the project.

high compression 2.0 williams engine, 286? cams, sport spider gearbox and 8500 rpm, 200 bhp and no torque (LOL). Just fun...for now.

i know but now its fitted with 16" (i know, no looks, to small) but it handlles amazing. I'm looking into a custom spacer to fit the pro's 1.2 (17"x 9J). Question is..do i want a ford wheel on my renault ? LOL

Is that a 16v engine in the Renault 5.....????

See you tomorrow by the way........6pm - i'll have the parts you require....just call me "cookies auto factors".....
