Slight misfire

I've got an annoying issue with my Vee

A couple of weeks ago I had a coil go, easily sorted at the roadside by fitting a new one, the next day another one went (I remember two coils have gone pop previously one after another), sorted again as I carry two spares.

Later on the same journey I could feel a slight misfire again but only at low revs on a small throttle opening, in order to sort the issue I've now changed all six coils and fitted a new set of spark plugs - it did seem OK initially but the problem has reappeared

In all other respects the car runs fine, on full throttle it picks up fine and revs cleanly right to the red line, it's only when feathering the throttle that I can feel the misfire.

The engine management light did come on when the coils failed but remains unlit with the slight misfire.

Has anyone had a similar experience to this or any idea as to what could be the issue ?

Thanks,

Phill

I think that you'll find that most of the advice will be dont drive it then! Just detail it!

Sorry! I just couldn't help myself

Bringing this up from the dead as I have the same issue.
No codes, no engine light.

Coils and plugs are 1k old and it doesn’t feel like when one of those have gone.

Any ideas?

I’m going to go trough the motions this morning checking each one.

The issue I’ll have is that it idles perfectly

So one of the easy ones made no difference when unplugged, I put a new OEM pack in and now it actually changed when unplugged as do the other 2 easy ones.

But it drives and misfires worse than before now [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

I changed all 6 plugs and the rear 3 coils and it’s running perfectly now.

The plugs were very dirty, I’m presuming from over fuelling.

A quick update on this.

After a few long runs it’s not come back, hopefully that’s the end of it. I won’t hold my breath though.
