Slight Lack of power

Hi peep, ive got a problem with my ph1 Vee that i might have wrongly diagnosed, i had my first coil go on me the other week very sudden and of course lack of power and noisey exhaust due to a cylinder being out, got it sorted no probs and was running fine, now there is a definite lack of response in power from immediate to drawn out and a slightly different sounding to the car (exhaust) my first question was can a coil go slowly? but ive been thinking am i experiencing another problem maybe ?? Any answers anyone?? a day before i had a race with a 944 turbo for a couple of wet miles let him go in the end, older and wiser haha, but i was pushing the vee to its max could this have hurt my vee haha??
