Curses, just checked the weather forecast, doesn't look too great, but it's been changing everyday so here's hoping that the rain doesn't happen!

What a fantastic event it was, except for the horrid weather we had on Friday and Sunday. Friday was particularly bad, which was a shame since 10 Vees got to take to the track on a Parade Lap of the Silverstone F1 Circuit. Dave (d7ve_b), sorry you had to miss the parade lap - hope you managed to get home okay. Graham, glad you managed to get to the assembly area in time.

GlowRed's video of Nas' Vee on the parade lap shows how wet it was on the Friday (24th): LINK

On a positive note we had 11, of the 12 Vees registered to attend on Friday, parked up on the club display area, so a big thank you to all those who braved the weather to attend the event. Thank you to James, Big Mark and Dave for transporting the Club Marquee to and from the venue, and of course for setting it all up - Andrew, thank you for pitching in to help erect the marquee. I hope everybody received a goody bag (if you hadn't received one at Kimbolton) - curtsey of James.

Silverstone Classic 2015 - Album (Pictures of Vees)

Saturday was dry, but breezy, so much of the day was spent actually going around the pits, watching some fantastic machinery out on track - there was some close racing to be enjoyed. It was superb to hear the wail of F1 cars (i.e. the silly turbo charged things that they have today with their muted soundtracks), air cooled Porsches and the big V8, V10 & V12 engined monsters. Happened to be in the pit area when the cars assembled for the Masters Historic Sports Cars Race. That was a sight to behold, with a soundtrack second to match...........

Roll on 2016. This was my first go at organising an event on behalf of v6Clio.net, so thank you to everybody who helped make it happen. The plan is to make it bigger and better next year..........

Great job Dulan! Such a shame about the weather as you mention. Its always a brilliant weekend none the less though. Some very special moments to be had around the pits and paddocks which are impossible to experience anywhere else in the world including FOS. Gutted I missed the chance to veiw the vee's on track due to work but maybe next year.

Thank you Brett. Shame we didn't have time to catch up, but surely your Vee will be ready by the summer of 2016?

Thanks Dulan for organising the get together, it was great to meet up with everyone, shame about the weather which leads me on to a special thank you to Martin & Amy who rescued us in many ways at the campsite and when we nearly missed the parade lap and who were great company. We will look forward to going again next year.
P.S it was dry and 6deg warmer when we got home!! Typical...
Thanks again to everyone

Hmmm Not sure. If the race cars finished there is a chance........but then I might leave it another year so everyone can catch up with its milage still! Lol

Highlights of Silverstone Classic 2015, starting tonight on ITV4, 8 pm:

"...an hour-long highlights programme will be screened tonight on ITV4 at 8:00pm with a follow-up repeat at 12:00am on Saturday 15 August and 10:45am on Sunday 16 August."

Indeed Brett......and was it Dario Franchetti standing behind Nas!

The under 2-litre touring car race was really a wheel-to-wheel affair, with some cool four wheel drifts thrown into the mix. Nowadays you don't see the pit crew topping a car up with the water/coolant during pit stops.
